A Pause From The Regular Programming For A Commercial
This is not a paid post. This is a shout out for a product that I think is the best of its kind and I wanted to share with all of you.
The Gotham Gal found this product a few years back and we've been using it in our home for about five years now. It's called "In The Raw Body Wash". I am a fan of grapefruit/tangerine, but it comes in about a dozen frangrances.
Here's why I like it so much; great packaging, the pump works flawlessly, it's plastic not glass, its the right consistency, it washes off well, it's thick enough that I shave with it, and every one of the various frangrances is a winner. And the products are organic and handmade.

Sounds like a great product … but not sure why you say it’s good because “it’s plastic not glass”: Totally unrecyclable and much more (environmentally) costly than glass.

plastic is eminently recyclable (i personally ran a business that recycled plastics) and it is also completely biodegradable. if it is more “environmentally costly” (?) it is because plastic is a petroleum byproduct.though i have never seen a study comparing the manufacturing and delivery and reclaiming costs of plastic vs glass, i highly recommend this: http://bit.ly/16XeaT
I had to laugh when I saw this post. I have a note to blog about body wash for two months now, and never got around to it. Now I can leave this comment, and cross it off my list. :-)It took me decades to discover the joy of body wash and a loofah (now I know what I was missing). For a couple of years, I was stuck on products from Bath and Bodyworks, lovely stuff, lots of choice.A few months ago I discovered Bodycology at a Walmart. I picked up the Peach Mango body wash (which I see now is not shown on their website). I don’t want to leave the shower, because the smell is so good. ;-)Anyway, I think I’ll give your suggestion a shot as well, though it’s in an entirely different price range than Bodycology…Thanks for helping me cross something off of my to-do list. 🙂

I may not be a huge fan of bodywash or scented soaps (I prefer unscented so that when I wear perfume it doesn’t clash)-But I got to say- I keep the Gotham Gal in my feed. I admire her style, taste, and modern sense of ethic (including Jewish Ethic). If I could turn into something similar to her one day- I would be very happy with myself. And she has awesome recipes…And I would love to see her secret notes that every woman has about maintaining her life- like how she found and tracked down the bodywash in the first place….Though I have to ask (as a total aside)-what is with men liking highly scented bodhywash?

OK, I’ll bite. Why now? Did something occur in the body wash arena that made you finally get around to posting this?I am pro body wash, by the way, and don’t mind the non-paid endorsement, but I am always curious about how things come into peoples consciousness.
I think this blog could use some ‘commercials’ but they should be for products I really love. Look for more in the future
1) BigE and I shy away from paying 32 bucks for soap, but she will buy it as a luxury once in while. I sent the post to her and we’re going to try it for the summer. As a student of “raving fans,” I wonder…what motivated you to share this particular product experience with your readers? I’m not saying it’s not valuable, but it’s clearly outside of your genre.Plus, as a marketer with a client in the organic, paraben-free cosmetics/hygiene world, someone like you certainly doesn’t fall into the typical realm of “influencer” for this vertical. (I’m skeptical of the influencers and focus more on friend->friend WOM, but that’s another story).Either way, there was SOMETHING about this product experience that made you say “I want to share this with my network, regardless of how connected it is to my normal topic” and that something was different than the thousands of other products that you use daily/weekly, etc.Just interesting to think about.
