Wow

I woke up this morning to find out that overnight you all gave almost $1,250 to various Donor's Choose projects. I am now 5% of the way to my goal of raising $25k.

That is amazing and shows the power of the web to bypass traditional systems and get money right to the causes that need it. Frankly I am blown away by the generosity and I am going to match it by making another donation this morning to another great project. I've seen what smart boards do to the interaction in my kid's classrooms so I am going to help a teacher in East New York to get one in her classroom.

I only got one comment to my post last night, but I got 6 donations. That's a great ratio. The single comment suggested I promote school vouchers to get the kids out of public schools instead. I am not ready to give up on public schools, I'd rather hack them. By getting the money directly to the teachers so they can use it as they see fit.
