Email Me Instead
I found a Facebook app that solves a big problem for me in Facebook: I don't like Facebook messaging.
It's called email me instead and it places this button on your Facebook profile.
It would be even better if it placed that button right in the Facebook messaging window.

I would prefer to just have an api to receive facebook messages in my mail-app. To me, facebook, if used correctly, is a perfect way to avoid spam and cold-messaging.

This application sounds great, but the question is: do you trust your confidential communication with an untrusted developer?

I am the developer of this app. I just made EmailMe because facebook messaging was annoying me.
We don't see any of your communication, we only store your email address because facebook doesn't provide it through the api.
The company I started, Xobni, is making new ways to look at your email. Learn more about Xobni at http://www.xobni.com

We are looking into solving this problem as well, but will be focused more on short, interesting questions to the user.
Just working out how to port our stuff to facebook so it makes sense.
