The public comment period is over, it ended on June 19th. What does that mean? You can't speak your mind anymore? Sheese.

If you feel like telling the powers that be how you feel about Pier 40, go to this blog and leave a comment.

In my world, there is never an end to public comments!

I have a comment to make regarding the condition of Pier 40. Have you seen the concrete chunks that have fallen from the structure? When on the walkway that circles the fields, look up along the East and South sides and you can see many areas (some large) where stuff has come down. Judging from the rust stains and re-bar showing through, this building is in really bad shape. Many of Manhattans piers have had to be rebuilt due to age and this one is no exception. Both the structure and the foundation. Taking a look at the two proposals... which one has the resources available (without passing the buck to taxpayers or pier users) to keep the public from losing pier 40 permanentally? Enough rhetoric and more facts.
