I was in New York this week for business. Took the subway from midtown down to 8th street and realized just how residential NYC could be. That's a beautiful picture. I miss the city already.

After watching your flckr stream - i saw this... http://tinyurl.com/2lvh9z ... now your photobiking + place blogging + plus this stuff! recreating this world virtually is getting closer and closer.

If only there were a way to capture and share the smell of fresh baked bagels coming from the H&H commissary...THAT would really be something.

lovely pic - i only lived there for a year (51st on 7th) or so, but that pic made me feel homesick almost. weird.

Thanks for the photos, Fred -- I was on the fence about going for a run this morning, but the Seattle weather is also fantastic today, and the dog is looking for some exercise. Of course, I'll probably skip the photos -- I really don't go far enough that it would require more than 1 or 2 photos :-)

Photobiking -- I like that term.

Great shots! I was blading down the west side about a half hour after these were taken. Certainly an awesome way to start the day!

That is a great photo. I think one of my favorite things in the past was having my 8am jazz radio show on Saturday. It forced me to get up at an hour when most people are still asleep or just waking up. And it was beautiful to see the initial stiring of the commmunity on a weekend morning - especially with the cool brisk weather and the sun just hitting the trees when it creeps over the horizon. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Nice pictures...what kind of bike do you ride?
