FaceLash
I am smitten with the lash suffix. So here's one more.
Marc Andreessen, who will never face a backlash because he's just too damn good, has written the definitive piece on the Facebook backlash.
Now we can get back to the iLash.

"let the backlash begin!"

People get easily annoyed with hype. When every blogger or media blogger is covering the same story for more than a week straight, people want to backlash and get the message across that "enough is enough." Just like the never-ending Paris Hilton saga.
I think when the hype is coming from bloggers that are closer to media (Mike Arrington or Robert Scoble) than those who are blogging for personal reasons (Fred Wilson), people see it as marketing.
That's how I think others feel. I don't really care, because I can just delete the content from my aggregator without reading it... but others feel the need to backlash, as if their opinion is more important than someone else's. If you don't like the droning on about Facebook, then turn off your PC for a few days.
