Aha Shake Heartbreak
I can't stop listening to this record. How did I not find this when it came out a year or so ago? I guess my social music discovery system is not failsafe. I'll have to plug the holes.
But regardless, I wake up with these songs in my head and just want to listen some more. It reminds me of Exile because its raw, raunchy, based in american roots music, and it rocks.
I want to find two reasonably priced copies of the clear vinyl version of this record so I can send them to Jackson and Tony Alva and prove them rock is not dead.
Here's a taste of the record. If you like what you hear, go get the whole shebang. It's awesome.

If you like this record (and their new one I assume) then you must check out their first record which is their best imo.

This one came out in 04 methinks. Maybe it predates your social discovery systems. They rocked Coachella a few weeks back.

Yes!! This album is brilliant. I love The Bucket. And they were indeed fantastic at Coachella and on the main stage no less.
Fred you should also check out the Black Keys. Good stuff with a southern twist. They are great live.

Rock is dead in the sense that it's golden age is over, like classical, there aren't any Mozarts and Beethovens working today, just as there won't be another Beatles or Stones.
People still play classical, and people will still play Rock, but as a movement, as an art form, it's over.
Like classic American cars, all one can do is slap on some bondo, new paint - sure it's a nice ride, enjoy it. But they don't make 'em like that anymore.

So funny. I picked up Because of the Times because of your post last month. Loved it so much I grabbed Aha Shake 2 weeks ago. Same deal as you: heavy rotation. Awesome rock album! Thanks for the original pointer.
