I call it the four rules.

Been thinking about YouTube lately and have been wondering if YouTube is going to be the next AOL. What I mean by this is that in the early days of the Web, AOl was a needed mechanism/service to get people onto the INternet. Internet for Dummies if you will. Once people realized there was so much more out there and what they could do with it (and not need AOL) the demise began. I really do not see why you need YouTube. Maybe it is the early video play that got the masses interested in video and allowed them to see the potential but it has spawned many other ideas and uses of video. In the end, I think the purchase of YouTube could be viewed as a mistake on par with Time Warners purchase of AOL.
