Fred, the YouTube clip is from "Later With Jools Holland" - which has been a classic BBC late night live music jam for years. (good job the Beeb gets it, and is cool with its stuff being on You Tube). Check this out to buy some "Later..." compilations. You will not be disappointed.

Anyway, on Amy Winehouse… I'd heard the lead single “Rehab” and thought: “that’s a great pop single… but the whole album is going to be too much.” Then my mum brought the CD with her this week on her trip to see me in Colorado. We cranked it up loud in the car on the way to Vail … and what a record! Variety breaks up her syrupy voice, and whoever is on production knows how to tone things down perfectly when needed. Awesome.

Weller is an all-time hero, so your clip was well received over cornflakes this morning…

I had tickets to see Amy in concert at Shepherd's Bush and she canceled last minute. Not a huge deal for me personally, but she's notorious for opting for the bottle over her gigs, and it's starting to irritate her fans: http://www.gigwise.com/news.asp?contentid=29054

This was the second time she's apparently canceled this particular concert too.

I love Weller too, and I am sorry but I can’t understand why he appears on the same stage with Amy. She is a ‘popwreck’. She needs to go back to drug rehab and get treatment before it’s too late. Her career is slowly crumbling away as well as her life and she simply doesn’t seem to care.
