Live At Massey Hall

I know I've blogged this before, but I've got to re-emphasize the point.

Neil Young's new live record, Live At Massey Hall, is awesome.

If you are a Rhapsody/Yottamusic subscriber, you can listen here.

Otherwise, buy it at Amazon.

Trust me, you won't regret it. It's a great Journey To The Past.

All,

The man speaks the truth. This is one of the best live records I've heard in 20 years. I'm dying to know how they got such great quality audio for this particular performance, but it sure sounds like they had the Rolling Stones mobile unit with that gorgeous Helios console parked out back of Massey Hall. Buy the CD all you downloading geeks and get the DVD that comes as part of the package, it's a great bonus (there's film of Neil with the 'Old Man' of the song of the same title). Most of the songs are performed in complete quiet (after applause of course) which is very conducive to turning it up loud!

Rock is dead, long live rock!

thanks for the hook up fred

Just got the album. I figure such a strong recommendation I figured I had to give it a shot. Not only amazing Neil Young, incredible live performance.

Been a while since I've listened to much Neil, but got this from iTunes on your recommendation - loving it. Thanks.

* Another great tip ... am listening now :!:
Cheers.

neil's fingers quite thin and agile as the quavering voice's clear...got shivers up and down my spine...not to be a demagogist but this really sounds like the new era classic music...

Neil is playing great, accompanied with only a guitar and piano, the sound is amazing, listening to this record you understand why so many people love this man and his music, A must for your collection

Martijn
