Feverish Dreams

I ran a fever all night last night and tossed and turned and sweat like crazy. I went in and out of sleep and had some wild dreams in which I saw the future of the Internet. I wish I could hit the rewind button on my brain and get them back. I think they were pretty good.

Fevers induce hallucinations and those seeking "visions of the future" have used hallucination inducing techniques for centuries.

Now, I'm not suggesting what I'm not suggesting, but I'm just saying what everybody is saying.

Get well.

Wow Fred, I've only been reading your blog for 6 mos [or less] but do you always get the same amount of entrepreneur spam? I know that I have been mildly guilty of this myself but it's still pretty interesting.

It's wild because you would think that person-to-person contact would feel more benign than a tv ad screaming at you, but I'm not sure which is more offensive.

I'm just thinking aloud here, not trying to pick at anyone in particular, etc. It's just that the implications of this seem to be wide-ranging...

When is it okay, even when you're a part of a community, to self-promote? Is it better not to overly self-promote and maybe just buy normal advertising where the community hangs out [so there's some kind of "agent" relationship]?

For example, I think it's much better for Sonos to sponsor a widget than to have some Sonos representative weighing in on every music post.

You might have discussed this in the past, if so...carry on!

That's ironic, because in the future the internet will be directly connected to your brain, and there will be a rewind button (also known as GoogleBrainCache)

I have been running a fever lately too and had some weird dreams lately as well.

So I am a huge Johnny Cash fan, and I had a dream that he was doing one last concern; of course, I was there. The thing was that had a big scraggly beard, kinda like Santa, and the entire time, I was asking myself how he was alive since he passed about 4 years ago.
