Went there just this past July and loved it despite the crush of the crowds. You're hitting it at a really good time. From what I understand, Venice has a bunch of "peak" seasons: summer, carnival, etc. It's only a day of travel away from Vienna, too, so we hope to get back there a lot.
Looks like y'all are having a great time.

We'll be there in a couple weeks for New Years. I hope it's just as deserted.
