Getting Ready For Modest Mouse

Tourbus For those who don't know, Modest Mouse will be making a tour of NY rock venues this coming week. Starting at The Nokia Theater on Monday night, then Webster Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday nights (The Gotham Gal and I are going wednesday), followed by two shows at Bowery Ballroom on Friday and Saturday night.

The thing is Modest Mouse is playing a bunch of songs from their new record (out next January), We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, and I would prefer to hear them a few times before going to the show.

But that's not a problem, a quick visit to the Hype Machine revealed a bunch of live versions from the LA shows last week.

I've tagged them in delicious and if you subscribe via iTunes to my Fred's Podcast feed, they will be in your iTunes tomorrow (and mine) to provide for easy iPod listening.

I love Modest Mouse and would be excited to see them under any circumstances, but this new version of Modest Mouse with Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr gets me even more excited. This new song, We've Got Everything, sounds like the perfect marriage between Modest Mouse and The Smiths. Oh yeah.

Update: I linked to the wrong "fred's podcast" feed in the original version of this post. Use the "burned" version of the feed here instead if you want to subscribe in iTunes. I changed the link above as well.

Fred, how do you circumvent the error that iTunes 7.02 throws when subscribing to feeds with mixed (text & music) content like your de.icio.us feed.

I can't get it to subscribe to your feed.

Just curious to find out how you have done it since it seems to be working for you.

Regards,

Andreas
