Highway Companion
My mp3 of the week this week is Saving Grace, the single off the new Tom Petty record, Highway Companion.
The record isn't out until next week, but I heard Saving Grace last night on KFOG.
After I posted Saving Grace, the folks at Rhapsody alerted me to the fact that Highway Companion is streaming now on Rhapsody. Great stuff. Check it out.

I'm a big Tom Petty fan, and I'm sure this song is great. Unfortunately, I got too annoyed to click through and listen. I'm sure you know what I mean. That play button in your post fooled me into thinking it would be delicious-like and play in the blog. Instead I go to a Rhapsody page and click again. Even then, no music. I have to download something...it doesn't even tell me WHAT I'll be downloading. What's more, I already have Rhapsody's player on my machine. Shouldn't it know that? Thanks for the effort, but Rhapsody is just too silly.

I saw Petty play last month at Summerfest, in Milwaukee, with Pearl Jam.
I don't really love Tom Petty, but I have to admit I had fun.
He played all the songs that the crowd wanted to hear right away at the beginning of the show. The crowd LOVED it.
I've been to Allman Bros and Phish, but never have I been at a concert with more pot smoke.

I don't like that this is a rhapsody link. I prefer not to have to install a very big player to hear a track. That is a heavy requirement for a user and makes this post completely unusable. Is this going to be a regular thing? If so, i'll start ignoring mp3 of the week posts. You do realize that everyone else in the world posts mp3s dont you?

I clicked on the highway champion link and got the message that the page cannot be displayed. Not really sure why.
Anyways, enjoyed the other song. Really nice.

In addition to the earlier complaints, can I add that it's a pain when Rhapsody tells me that I can't listen to the streaming audio because I'm outside the USA?

well, I LIKE IT. i was looking for a stream of this album, and i found it thanks to you. i don't mind installing a plugin. i can freakin uninstall it later. thanks!
