MP3 of the Week
When I am at a loss for an mp3 to post, I always wander over to the Hype Machine and see what's up.
I hit the jackpot this morning as I am still in the tail end of my Pete Townshend obsession, but gearing up for some serious M Ward action because I just got a preview of his new record Post-War.
And there on the front page of Hype Machine is M Ward's cover of Let My Love Open The Door. Bingo. No question, didn't even need to listen to it. But of course I did. Three times. And you should too.
Let My Love Open The Door - M Ward
Thanks to You Ain't No Picasso for the link and M Ward and Pete Townshend for the song.

Hah! Glad to see we distract you now and then from busy debating with Paul & Jeff :)

It's a great track.
Hear Music (Starbucks) put this song out for Valentines 2005 on their second "Sweetheart" compilation. It was a good record with artists like Martina Topley-Bird, Rufus Wainwright, Milton Mapes, Sondre Lerche, Luna, and Old 97's covering their favorite love songs. Neko Case had a great version of Buckets of Rain and Calexico delivered a rendition of Love Will Tear Us Apart that got stuck in my head for weeks.
I would post a link to the record but the very recently relaunched hearmusic.com is too difficult to use.
