MySpace Coming On Strong In Video
A couple weeks ago I posted on how YouTube beat everyone else in video sharing.
And I said it was largely due to the ability to embed YouTube videos on MySpace, other social networks, and blogs.
Well if that is the reason, and I stand by my assertion, then it makes sense that MySpace video is coming on strong and is now in second place well ahead of Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft, and AOL as this story in MediaPost suggests. The data comes from HitWise. I'd like to see the Media Metrix data which is the only tracking service that actually measures video streams.

The best commercial I have seen in years came during the hoops game last night. It was HP's laptop ad - BUT - it was all about teens and myspace. Brilliant.
No head shot so it could have been any kid. Perfectly executed.
It is so rare that I hope everyone gets to see it.
It can only help them

So, what you are saying is that MySpace is just behind YouTube in allowing people to rip off other people's content?
Yes, I'm aware that I only know one song...

You can also see some Comscore figures through the pr of their recent Video Metrix panel
http://www.comscore.com/press/release.asp?press=874
I made my own calculations to guess Youtube's share based on Video Metrix: (in french sorry) athttp://media-tech.blogspot.com/2006/05/36-milliards-de-vidos-en-mars-comscore.html
In summary from my post, 40 millions videos a day seen on Youtube times 30 days is 1.2 billions video among a total of 3.6 billions measured by Comscore
that's at least a 33% market share for Youtube in terms of viewed videos
