MP3 of the Week

I have no idea what all this fuss is about regarding Nuestro Himno, the spanish version of the star spangled banner recorded and released by Urban Box Office, a Flatiron Partners portfolio company.

Like everyone else, including our President, I believe that immigrants who come to live in our country should learn english and learn to sing the national anthem in english.

But for most immigrants, english is going to be their second language.  Their first language and the one they love the most will be spanish, russian, mandarin, hindi, hebrew, or something else.

I think the idea that they should be encouraged to sing about their love of our country in the language that they love should be celebrated not criticized.

So I am making Nuestro Himno my mp3 of the week.
