The Eels
The Eels are an acquired taste like scotch or cigars, both of which Mark Oliver Everett (aka E) consumed liberally during the show we saw them play at Town Hall in New York City last summer.
That show was recorded and is now available on CD and DVD . If you are a fan of the Eels, you must get this disc. And if you think you might be a fan, get the CD of the live show, it’s a great intro into this amazing band.

Saw Eels for about the sixth time on their "with strings" tour last year, and am seeing them again this summer when they return to London. Quite, quite wonderful - barely a day has gone by since they released Blinking Lights that I haven't listened to at least some of it. Nice to see fellow digital media analysts have such excellent musical tastes!

Love The Eels, in particular an old track (This Town) that got me through some tough times, but actually seeing the band was uncomfortable, because everyone except Mark Oliver Everett had been forced to wear the same sad red jump-suit.
What kind of person makes his bandmates wear dorky outfits?
All the same, I'll get the disc.
