Jet Blue Flies NYC/Austin
I found out something I didn't know today.
Earlier this year, Jet Blue started direct service between NYC and Austin, Texas.
That is fantastic news. Austin has been too hard to get to for me for a long time and it's such a great place to visit.
And as I've blogged before, I love everything about Jet Blue.

i love jblu too

Completely agree with your JetBlue comments. I live near Irvine, CA, so I have John Wayne as an option, but there are very few non stop flights to the east coast, and given that I visit NYC several times a year, Jetblue is the perfect solution. 20 minutes further down the road, I can literally get to the airport 15 minutes before my flight (not that I recommend this sort of behavior) and park for $9/day at the terminal or get it valeted for $16/day and almost walk right on to my plane. There's never a wait at security and the flying experience is top notch. As much as I find TV a distraction in general, when you're on a 6 hour flight, it's nice to decompress with a show or sporting event on JetBlue's DirecTV service.
My only frustration is with their loyalty program. I have to fly to NYC 8 times before i get a free ticket. That's higher than most of the major carriers. Other than that, I fly Jetblue whenever I can.

Jet Blue is an amazing airline. Cheap, (fellow startups, keep this in mind when travelling), great service, DIRECT TV, leather seats, and good snacks. This marketing/satisfaction method is one of my favorites, Bread and Circuses. This was used in the ancicent Roman days to keep the people happy by giving them gladiator shows and free bread. I've flown Jet Blue from Miami to New York (Now Newark), over 20 times in the past 2 years, and will continue to do so. If anyone from Jetblue reads this, please put in free wifi next. I bet you'll have tons of blog posts including the phrase "I now fly Jet Blue, so I can get my blogging done in the air." The wifi has just paid for itself.

And coming in May....
Portland Maine to JFK.
It makes being a virtual comapany a little easier if it only costs $65 to come down to meet with the rest of the team rather than $400.

Fred, Agree totally. Have flown jetBlue since their launch & consulted on their early marketing programs.
Since commuting bet NY & Austin, TX for the past 3 1/2 years, been lobbying David Neelman CEO for route. Just hope fare stays in the $79.00 ea. way sweet spot.
South West who??? ;-)

I want jetblue near me. Harrisburg or BWI. Or PHL. Can someone make this happen for me? By May would be ideal. Even just for a few weeks.

Drop me a line if you're coming to Austin. I'd be glad to give you tips on good local restaurants, bars and bands to check out. We definitely needed the Jet Blue exposure. Before they came, tickets to anywhere Southwest didn't fly to were usually ridiculously high!
