MP3 of the Week

I love the Kinks.  And it appears that many of the new bands out there do as well.  I often hear the Kinks influence in songs, particularly by young british bands.

This song, Emily Kane, by Art Brut, off their debut album, Bang Bang Rock & Roll, is awesome and if you told me it was written by Ray Davies, I'd believe you.

Check it out and let me know what you think

i just listened to emily kane, and i can see how you see the influence of the kinks, but it reminded me even more of another british band, called leyton buzzards. they were an 80s band.

fyi, i live in muswell hill where the kinks come from, and work at queen mary university near last fm. it was in seaching for last fm (because i forgot to bookmark it) that i found your site.

i just discovered lastfm last week and i agree that it's better than pandora, which i'd busily been converting people to.

also fyi, my research centre does work - roughly speaking - on doing what audioscrobbler does, but direct from the signal.
