Treo 650 Crashing Problem
My Treo 650 crashes about five times a day. It's an unlocked GSM version with a Tmobile sim card.
I run Goodlink on it and have a 1gig card in it.
Do others have this same problem and if so, has anyone found a solution?
It's driving me crazy and will cause me to find another phone/email solution if I can't fix this problem.

I, too, am having HORRIBLE reset problems with my Treo 650. I've had it for five months, and about a week ago, it began crashing at least 30 times a day. I have performed 3 hard resets on the phone, to no avail. I have stripped the phone of all 3rd party apps, and it is just running now on the barebones software that came with the phone. It is still crashing. It's 4pm and it has crashed 16 times today (and counting!)
I am a Verizon Wireless customer (and have been for 14 years - since they were Airtouch Cellular), and they have given me ZERO help as far as a solution is concerned. I've had numerous tech guys attempt to help me over the past few days, but none have solved the problem. They said they would send me a phone, but it would be a refurb. I told them I wanted a NEW PHONE, and they said, "No...it has to be a refurb." I could BUY a new phone, they informed me, but would have to pay full price ($599.00 is what I was quoted by phone). I am BESIDE MYSELF with anger over this issue and don't know what to do.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. I agree with the class action lawsuit - I can't believe that someone who sells an expensive device like the Treo won't back up this (obviously) ubiquitous problem with any sort of guarantees.
I, too, have had it.

I am on my third treo 650. It would be a good phone if it would do what it is made to do.I am with verizon wireless and they also blame the crashes on 3rd party applications.when i took a 3rd party app. out it seemed to work better so i am waiting to see if that was the problem or not. But I think we all should be compensated for all of our trouble we have had to deal with.

Mine was resetting when I received an SMS message, I think I finally figured it out. I went in and changed the ringer that was assigned to SMS messages and now it doesn't reset anymore. I think at one time I had an MP3 ringer assigned through ringo or technician or some app which I later deleted (the app). My theory is that when I deleted the app, the ringer for SMS receipts was not changed to one that the Treo could find, causing it to reset when it looked for it??

I bought my first Treo 650 in December 2005. I had 3 replaced in 3 months because the headset jack was bad. Then 2 others within the next 4 months. Now The one I recently got crashed everytime I charge it and also at random sometimes.
I keep getting left on hold and transfered around at Sprint. No one there will help me. At the Sprint store they tell me there is nothing they can do. All I want is to upgrade to the 700p and hopefully it doesn't have all the same problems. They say I have to pay full price if I want to upgrade.
I have been with Sprint for 9 years and pay close to $100 a month and have bought about 12 to 13 new phones. They need to take care of their customers.
I am furious over this. If anyone knows how I can get an upgrade, please let me know. [email protected]

Treo 650 crash problem.. I don’t have many crashes now but I once did. The problem was the programs I ran in ram. Apparently the Trio can’t handle too many things in main memory& in order to keep it from crashing too much you must try to have about 11MB free at all times and make sure your programs like the OS. For the record;15MB is more ideal but that’s more like wishful thinking. Truth is the amount of memory we have on our Treos is pathetic. If palm cared even the least amount about us they would allow us to upgrade the internal card that the memory located on to a minimum of to 256MB witch I personally am already in the process of trying it my self.
I don’t know what the hell is wrong with them. Give the customer what they want you idiots or we will just get it someplace else. The Treo 600 650 & 700 had huge potential but rather than giving us all a true pocket pc they crippled it by no allowing us to upgrade it like a PC.
This is a message to the company that does understand this concept.

I also have treo 650 that is experiencing the "looping resets". This came about when I was hotsyncing with full memory. I have not hotsynced it for months and am about ready to do a hard reset and kiss my contacts and calendar goodbye. I have hooked it up to my USB and hit the hotsync button repeatedly. Now I have a RBGW striped screen with "Bootload v 0.22" displayed. Anyone know how I can hack in to get my contacts back?

I recently received my Cingular branded Treo 650 from an eBay auction. After installing the sim card, it kept reseting when I attempted to answer an incoming call. I also couldn't select the "phone" icon to get into the phone dialing screen.
After checking the network settings and even bringing it in to the Cingular store, I still couldn't get it to work.
Finally I searched the Palm website and found this link: http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External2001,case=obj(26419)
Turns out all I had to do was a "hard reset" and now it works perfectly now.
Just keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have the daily rebooting issues many of you are experiencing.
