I have an interesting cooking/travel book called Hot, Sour, Salty, Sweet. You should check it out. It's about the region you discuss from a culinary perspective, likening it to something like the Mediterranean -- where ingredients are similar across the region, but technique, culture, history and traditions provide for the variation in the cuisine. Great writing, great photos and, above all, great recipes!

I see you're in Thailand. If you plan to come to Shanghai let me know. Interesting stuff to see here. I could help you put together a VC agenda, or meeting interesting entrepreneurs, or socializing, or tourist.
China is now #4 in the world and being here you understand why they'll soon keep moving upwards.
