Platinum Buddha
We have seen gold Buddhas, bronze Buddhas, wood Buddhas, and even emerald (jade actually) Buddhas.
But this platinum Buddha in the White Wat is my favorite so far.
Organized religion and orthodoxy is not my thing but there is something really great about Buddhism. It seems to be devoid of orthodoxy and full of personal peace and tranquility.

Yeah. Buddhism is awesome. Zen Buddhism especially. Though something tells me the Buddha wouldn't be too excited about a platinum buddha.
There isn't much dogma in Buddhism except that you can challenge everything. Depends though. Zen is especially nice due to the use of koans since you can challenge them until they end up cracking open your mind and you get that satori moment when it just all makes sense.
I wish I had more time to practice. A few years back I was goign to ditch the valley and go sit in a temple in Japan until I reached enlightenment.
Needless to say that didn't happen :)

Fred - Moreover, in many ways buddhism is compatible with modern science and with other religions. Definitely look into it.
