MP3 of the Week
I love Belle and Sebastian. They have the coolest mellow sound. I love to get up early in the morning when the house is quiet, put on a cup of tea and some Belle and Sebastian.
My friend Raj blogged about their new live record which is a fundraiser for the South Asian Earthquake Disaster. It's available exclusively on iTunes, which I think sucks. Why do record companies feel the need to make the music available exclusively anywhere? That's not customer friendly.
So part of me feels like I shouldn't promote this record. But instead I am going to make at least one song available somewhere else on the Internet.
It's a hard choice since all the songs are so good. But Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying is my favorite Belle and Sebastian song, so I'll go with that.
Camera Obscura on Merge can also be twee yet intelligent at the same time. Their latest was "Underachievers Please Try Harder."

Exclusivity in music sucks. It only serves the corporate function, not the artist or consumer.
