The New Jersey Jets

I am a Jet fan. And it hurts to say that.

My heart feels like Chad Pennington's shoulder these days.

And now they are going to be in New Jersey for the next 99 years.

The plan to build near LaGuardia was just a negotiating ploy to get the Giants to agree to a true partnership on a shared stadium near the current Giants Stadium.

As one of my readers, Drew, pointed out, the economics of a shared stadium are so much better that it was really the only option. My head says Drew is right. But my heart was in Queens not New Jersey.

At least the plan calls for a "rail link". I sure hope they live up to that part of the deal because I hate driving out to the Meadowlands to see a football game.

Hard to imagine why the teams would contribute to a rail link, unless they're absolutely required to in order for the state to make good on its promise for infrastructure improvements. The tickets are going to be sold whether or not there's a rail link, and why deprive yourself of the $20 per car in parking revenue?

I'm split: I hate the fact that they play in Jersey, te drive in and especially the wonderful drive back but love the tailgating especially by the wall in Lot D.

But to be honest, I'm more concerned with the Raven's D and the slim chance for Brooks Bollinger to suddenly be the next Tom Brady. Yeah, I'm a Jet fan and each year there has been hope only to be blacked out by various events in their history including the Ken O'Brien years; the Joe Must go time where the chant of "Joe must go" was louder than Fireman Ed's rallying cry of J-E-T-S; the one day head coach who left and won 3 superbowls ;or the most recent one of Paul Hackett is the cause of all our problems not a QB with an inconsistent arm, defensive lineman afraid without heart and the need to be free agents, or a kicker paid off.
Perhaps the curse of the Bambino has been passed over from Boston to our football team so that Namath and co. will be the last Jet team to see Superbowl. I don't know but i think I'm goingto have to wait till the off season to build back up the hope that this could be the year for my beloved Jets.

I don't care what type of "partnership" you nasty disgusting owners have here. You're still cohabitating with the Giants. As a diehard fan of both teams, I will only see them play on the road and will boycott the M---------s(I DESPISE that nasty word)stadium with all of my heart. I am so mad it is not even funny and I have a hard time keeping obcenities out of this. Please move the Jets back to Shea Stadium if nothing else as I would much rather cohabitate with the Mets than with the Giants. To me this is the same as moving the Jets and Giants to Los Angeles. It makes as much sense as relocating them to New Jersey. And hasn't it always been the dream of every diehard Jets fan to get their own stadium and not cohabitate?
