Modest Mouse at Summerstage

We went to Summerstage last night to see Modest Mouse.

We had a beatiful night including an amazing sunset about 9pm which we captured in this photo.

The Gotham Gal and I had seen them last summer at Roseland and that's when we got hooked on these guys.

Their records are good but they are so much better live.

Isaac Brock, the lead singer and guitarist, is a force and he brings it all to the show.

They did all the favorites from Good News; Float On, Ocean Breathes Salty, Bukowski, Bury Me With It, Satin In A Coffin, and The Good Times Are Killing Me.

We also got a bunch of songs from Moon And Antartica and one long jam that I hadn't heard before that I am now going to find out where its from.

All in all, a great nite with a great band.

If you like "Good News...", you should love "The Moon & Anartica" (if you don't already). A near-perfect album that got them noticed by lots of people. A little less of a pop sound, but I think it is more interesting...

I stumbled upon Modest Mouse about two years ago while sampling music from allofmp3.com I've since become a big fan of these guys. They have a unique sound and I love their versatility.

I've yet to see them live (aside from Letterman) if you know where I can put my hands on some decent bootlegs I'd love to grab them.

I'm a big modest mouse fan , theire music is just amazingly different, the way they play the instruments isaac's voice is just so scary but sweet at the same time ..
To bad I haven't been able to see the perform live, as far as I know they've only been to Europe one time , last year but then I was so stupid to not have seen theire name on a rock festival poster (reason I hate the festivals here with all the crapy hiphop and bad music ..) I was kinda angry that I decided next time they fly over the great ocean doesn't matter witch country they play I WANT TO SEE THEM LIVE !
