Batelle to Jobs: Fuck That

John Batelle takes issue with Steve Job's desire to fight all the way to the supreme court to protect his ability to keep Apple's secrets from being outed by bloggers.

The comments to John's post argue that John is wrong and Jobs is right.

That may be true in the court of law.

But in the court of public opinion, where Apple operates daily, this is a bad move.

I personally think Apple (S. Jobs included) has stomped on their corporate Johnson this time. Damned if they didn't and seriously damned if they did. There was a "high road" available and a lot of us feel they missed the turnoff. They could "settle" out of court at any time, call the dogs off, and let us all groan a serious sigh of relief. Think they'll do that though? Uh uh. No way.
