Feedburner Amazon Ads

For those of you who read my blog via an RSS reader, you'll start seeing Amazon ads.  These ads are being spliced into my feed by Feedburner.

John Batelle already tried this and apparently stopped after deciding it wasn't working well for his blog.

I am going to give it a try myself, mainly to understand what it does, how it works etc.

If you find the ads annoying, please let me know.  If you find them useful, I'd like to know that too.

I was checking my feeds on Bloglines this morning and I must admit I found the ad visually jarring. Perhaps I wouldn't have noticed it so much (just what advertisers want to hear) in a longer post but it dominated the space and distracted from your content. The only reason I might have clicked was that particular ad gave so little information away, I had no idea what it was for.
Annoying? Yes probably but no doubt easy enough to tune out, with practice.

Just saw it pop up this morning in NewsGator--Outlook automatically blogs download of the image, but it looks funny with the big placeholder. Not annoying enough I'd unsubscribe or anything, but not having it would look nicer, and/or text-based ads. Hope this helps!
