We sold all of our Microsoft stock today.
I feel better now.

Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Open Source (continued):
With the U.S. Patent Office's liberal issuing of *technology* patents - think Amazon's one click - I'm curious to know whether open source can grow to its full potential. A bit of a blanket statement, but the litigious nature of the software/tech industry could very well be its downfall.

Open source will always grow and improve- the question is whether or not open-source compiler companies can grow.
I think they can..... Spikesource etc. They're what I call a "Leggo Company"...
Leggo doesn't actually do much. What Leggo actually does isn't very interesting or compelling. Just bits of plastic fitted together.
However, as any parent will know, what THE CHILD DOES when playing with Leggo is absolutely fascinating.
Spikesource et al... it ain't about the plastic bricks, ne c'est pas?.
DISCLAIMER: I helped design the recent Spikesource Web 2.0 presentation graphics, so naturally I'm biased.

Wow... is this how you make all of your stock decisions?
Would you suggest that your parents ditch Windows in favor of Linux? Hey - if your mom needs something that Linux doesn't do, she's got the source code, right?
