AdSense (Continued)
If you want an easy and good demonstration of AdSense and contextual targeting at work, just click on the various categories on the left of my blog.
I just did it and its pretty cool.
Presidential Politcs generates and AdSense Imade Ad featuring a picture of John Kerry and John Edwards.
New Music generated a text ad for Lucinda Williams tickets.
That's what supposed to happen. Very nice.

That is exactly why it makes me wonder how come Google moved AdSense off the Blogger blogs hosted at blog*spot. After the move, users are served ads only if they search via the (admittedly relatively useful) navigation bar that's been introduced on all blog*spot hosted blogs. It's been a move that hasn't been widely talked about in the blogosphere, but one with potentially tremendous implications for LiveJournal, Xanga and the company I currently consult for. And I seriously don't understand it. Reportedly, CPMs at Blogger were around 1 USD, which seems pretty good given the state of advertising. Maybe this is only temporary. But it sure seems strange.
