Googling Teresa Heinz Kerry
Web search does some strange things.
I've been getting a ton of traffic (relatively speaking) to my Teresa Heinz Kerry post from a couple weeks ago.
I noticed it because all of a sudden, its become one of the most commented on posts with 2-3 new comments coming every day this week.
That doesn't normally happen.
I first thought it was related to her "shove it" comment, which is generally what I'd want to say to the right wing nuts who hang out on the Fox network too.
But four of the last five comments were messages written to Teresa and posted on my blog. That's strange.
So I went to TypePad and looked at the referring URLs for the Teresa Heinz Kerry posts. It was coming from Google. No surprise there.
But when I clicked on the referring link, it all became clear.
Go to Google and type in teresa heinz kerry email address
My blog is the first link on that search string for some strange reason.
So I guess people just click on the link and send her the email.
Now do I have an obligation to forward them?

I once had a similar experience with an Egyptian kid who mistook me for Brendan Fraser (My name is BRENDON Wilson and I went to Simon FRASER University) and wrote me an email to say how much he liked my movies. It was a shame, but I just replied and had to tell him that I wasn't Brendan Fraser.
Serendipidously, I met Peter Fraser last year, Brendan's father, and got to pass the message along. Too bad I didn't have the original messages. So keep those comments at the ready - who knows when you might run into Ms. Heinz Kerry.

"right wing nuts who hang out on the Fox network"? fred, if you're going to sling mud, at least do a tiny bit of homework? first, the journlist was not from fox, he was from a local pittsburgh print newspaper with a long history of taking on the heinz dynasty, but zero affiliation with fox. more important, did you watch the clip? theresa heinz keery clearly called people "unamerican", and the journalist asked her to explain what she meant. ms. heinz kerry then lashed him verbally, denying she ever used that word and accusing the journlaist of fabrication. the journlaits, knowing poerfectly well she did say "unamerican" pressed on (isn't that what woodward and bernstein would have done?) until ms. heinz kerry told him to "shove it." childish, self-centered, pompous, egomaniac behavior -- exactly what critics of ms. heinz keery accuse her of -- an imperious, harsh, aristocratic arrogance.
calling people "right wing nuts" or "left wing nuts" may feel good but its harmful, no? you often argue for more informed political discourse, and less polemics and us-vs.-them. yet you easily, so very easily, degenerate to dismissing people who may disagree with you (or with theresa heinz kerry) as "nuts"?

be careful that this doesn't kill your site off completely. it's happened to some bloggers: they were mistaken for other celebrities and people kept leaving links saying "help me" or "please call me" or just in general being very nasty, and it all went on for months and months on end!

Those right wing nuts are a little touchy aren't they? IS somebody worried about the election?
