Jazzfest
It's that time of the year again and i am in New Orleans for Jazzfest.
The Gotham Gal has a great post on the first day food and fun. The highlight is always Uglesich's for lunch.
My favorite thing yesterday was the trip Uptown through the Garden District. Check out these homes.
The first house is the home where Archie Manning raised Payton and Eli.
We're headed out to the fest now. Here's today's lineup.

Mad with jealousy! Unable to make it this year. Have fun and eat well!

If I am calculating right, you have taken at least 4 weeks of vacation in the last 4 months (Brazil, Beaver Creek and now New Orleans). Don't your limited partners get upset with your extremely limited work schedule and obviously enormous compensation? Do you mean to rub their face in it?

Fred, have a ball! Jazzfest is my favourite vacation every year... I'll be down next week.
If you get back up to the garden district, make sure you stop for a bloody mary on the porch of the Columns Hotel http://www.thecolumns.com/
Cheers!

Commander's Palace a must - went there last winter with Beryl.

I said it last year on Gotham Gal's site and I'll say it this year on yours:
GO TO JAQUES-IMO's. It's next door to the Maple Leaf. They take reservations for parties of 5 or more. I guarantee that you will not only not be disappointed, it will be one of the most fun, best-tasting meals you've had in a loooong time. And I know y'all are down with Mario, so that's a BIG BOAST.
