Aaargh!
If the Bush Adminstration and their attack dog cronies would spend even half the energy they spend on attacking their critics on addressing important issues like homeland security, jobs, and energy, we'd have a much better country.
I am sick of the jerks who run this country!

I wonder if war itself may be, the path for those seated on certain thrones of political power, the greatest profit engine. It would seem the production of the materials to wage it, the money lent to procure it, indeed tend to offer the incredible and dark potentials of profit to a given few.
Jim Marrs (Rule By Secrecy, Harper Collins 2000) quoting History Professor Howard Zinn, "...periodic war - to create an artifical community of interest between rich and poor...".
Marrs, though an interesting read and not the soap box I personally stand behind, points out "deeper rationals such as the need to distract the public from their domestic troubles."
Hmmm... a spiraling budget deficit, gargantuan unemployment figures, the probable demise of Social Security, a very mortal Medi-care system amongst a host of other issues our children will inherit does seem to be something worth keeping us distracted from, at least if you are the incumbent administration in an election year.

Ah, the politics of the north. How interesting. The American political system is quite amazing, it is an entire economic engine in itself and feeds off of two cylinders. Democrats and liberals believe basically the same thing, it is merely a shift in emphasis during times of election that makes the politics differ.
Yet, the American way is (in a generalised manner) based on a dire fear of not being the greatest, the biggest or the best. The same applies to the political arena.
I agree, the amount of time politicians spend on yabbering away around personal issues is a desperate wastage. It is sad indeed. People need real leaders in this world; leaders with vision and the ability to set the example for others.
Look at me...yabbering away.

Place issues aside. They mean nothing.
The asset of Bush in 2000 (confidence and self-assurance) will be
the downfall of Bush in 2004 (arrogance and denial).
When is the last time a President gave a State of the Union and his ratings went down?
NEVER.
Bush appears out-of-touch and unconcerned. Kerry will win if all he does is
point to Bush, and dismiss any attacks by, again,
pointing to the hypocrite-in-chief.
