I love the looks: hate the price. $50 more gets you a "real" ipod with over three times the storage. Still, I can see the appeal of not necessarily needing ALL of your music with you at once. For someone like me, with 40,000 + music files (and I'm still digitizing the CDs -- next up, the records), I won't find a device that's going to hold my entire collection. For my buddy who just took off for a year in Thailand, the 40GB iPod was the only choioce, but for popping a quick playlist with you on a trip or to a gym...

Definatly the blue.... the blue... People are saying they wont work, to expensive... But didnt they say that about the original ipod ???

indeed! the more I think about them, the more I like them. I guess original ipod spoiled us for storage and made me think that more was necessarily better. but these little ipods are might cute. and, think about PRE ipod life: 1000 songs in your pocket? Amazing!

I love the blue. Doesn't this go back to your comments about market segments. Apple has defined a new market segment and then selected a technology to meet their needs.
MIght be that this segment isn't so concerned with disk size.

I love being able to choose from lots of colors and shades, but they charge about $80 more if you customize it! It's really expensive already. Should I get one? Is the mini better, or the real one?
