Joss Stone (Continued)
I went to see Joss Stone last night at the Beacon Theater in NYC with my wife and a couple friends. She was terrific. When you see her live, you really sense how young she is. But when she sings, it just blows me away. She's this 16 year old kid with the voice of a 60 year old woman. Just amazing.
As I suggested in my earlier post on Joss, if you like soul music, go get her album.
Saw her at HOB in Chicago. She's absolutely everything she's cracked up to be and there is no reason she shouldn't become a hugely successful star. BUY IT! more info on her at:

Joss was on the Ellen Degeneres show today and sang "Supper Duper Love," which seems now to be her preferred selection for television appearances. Not sure I care for the "hip-hop" improv towards the end of the tune, but this also seems to be a standard modification for live performance of this tune. No interview, just the song. Her time in the spotlight will come and she deserves it. Check her out.

I have been following Joss Stone's career since she was 13 when she won a national talent competition in the UK.
She is on the Dave Letterman show Nov 21, and Sharon Osbourne's show second week of December, so look out for her.
She is also playing at Brixton Academy, London as special guest of Eryka Badu on December 1 and in Manchester December 2.
New album out next year.

There simply are not enough superlatives for this rising young star. Every part of every note of every song is drenched in genuine emotion and nuance. I don't pay much attention to popular culture, but I believe she is the most remarkable artist to come along in the last decade or so. Listen to her and make up your own mind.

it may sound blasphemous but yes one can draw comparissons between joss stone and janis joplin. The only problem the young ms. stone has is that she's pretty. too pretty in fact :) but who says this is a perfect world.
