Now they tell you at the beginning of the message how many times they've spammed you.

I am not sure that's such a smart move. It's like an annoyance meter that keps going up

I think I've got to add plaxo.com to th blacklist in my spam filter

There's a more effective technique. Register your email address with Plaxo, and set your name to something like "Yo, Bozo, No, you can't have my contact information."

You won't get bothered by annoying spam; Plaxo won't get much information from you (except a bit saying that they were able to validate your address), and those annoying people that use Plaxo to try and acquire your contact information will be told what you think of them.
